What Low Vision Zoom does and doesn't do with your information.

Data we collect

None. The app does not gather personal information, usage analytics, telemetry, or crash reports, and it does not send anything over the internet.

Your screen contents

Low Vision Zoom magnifies your screen using the Windows Magnification API, which is a live display transform. The app does not capture, record, screenshot, store, or transmit the contents of your screen. To keep the magnified view centered, it reads your mouse-cursor position; that position never leaves your device.

Keyboard and mouse

To make zoom work system-wide, the app uses a Windows "low-level mouse hook" so that Ctrl + scroll zooms in any window. This hook watches only for the mouse wheel together with the Ctrl and Shift keys in order to trigger zoom. It does not log keystrokes, record what you type, track your mouse activity, or send any input data anywhere.

Information stored on your device

The app saves one small settings file at %APPDATA%\LowVisionZoom\settings.json. It contains a single preference: whether the app should start when Windows starts. No personal data is stored.

If you turn on "Start Low Vision Zoom when Windows starts," the app registers a standard Windows startup entry on your device. Turning it off removes that entry.

Internet access

The app does not require or use an internet connection for any feature.

Accounts

The app does not require or offer a user account.

Children's privacy

Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children.

If the app's behavior ever changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this document and its "Last updated" date.
